Vice President, Engineering and CTO
Chris Midgley is Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer of Unidesk, and a member of the Unidesk Board of Directors. Chris' ideas for Unidesk stem from a career dedicated to advancing technologies such as virtualization, distributed storage, desktop management, continuous data protection, and Software as a Service (SaaS). His expertise in storage and virtual file systems has enabled him to look at desktop virtualization from a unique perspective, and invent a more comprehensive solution to the enterprise desktop management challenge.
Before founding Unidesk, Chris was Vice President, Digital Strategy at data storage services leader Iron Mountain, where he was responsible for defining the digital business' strategic roadmap and acquisition strategy. Chris joined Iron Mountain with its 2005 acquisition of LiveVault, the SaaS pioneer in online backup and recovery that he co-founded in 2001. Under Chris' technical leadership, LiveVault achieved 150% annual sales growth and a base of more than 2,000 SaaS customers. Prior to LiveVault, Chris was Founder and CTO of Network Integrity, a leading provider of fault-tolerant clustering solutions and disk-based continuous data protection technology. Chris has also founded or led the engineering teams for several other successful technology companies, including Sytron Corporation, Irwin Magnetics, and Datalab Corporation.
