Yesterday, I blogged about our customers’ participation in the Unidesk booth at VMworld 2011, and the broad vendor ecosystem represented by their VDI implementations. But it wasn’t all work and no play. Come on, we were in Las Vegas, after all!

Re-learned a rookie lesson on the way home from VMworld 2011 Las Vegas: don’t take a nap before getting on a red-eye - you won’t sleep on the plane. But it did give me the chance to blog Unidesk’s experience and thank 10 of our customers for helping staff our booth!

What is this “Layering” you speak of?

There has been a lot of hype/talk about “layering” in the VDI space over the last year. Really almost 2 years ago Layering started getting some press. Gabe from brianmadden.com put out an article called What is Layering, and why does it matter.

Is deduplication an oxymoron? It is with VDI!

I’ve been thinking about deduplication recently. The very name strikes me as odd. De-duplication. Do something so that we can undo it. Create duplication, and then undo the duplication. Does that make deduplication an oxymoron? Here's what my dictionary says:
