Pano Logic & Unidesk Webinar Slides and Q&A
From October 19, 2010 webinar
View presentation slides and read Q&A:
- Do I still need a profile management tool, or does Unidesk's personalization do this?
- You mentioned Pano integrates with VMware View - why would I need to use View if Pano comes with a built-in broker?
- I saw you assigned McAfee A/V as an app layer within Unidesk. I didn't think application virtualization tools could package system services?
- If you use the Pano Logic broker, can you also use another broker for different use cases?
- You showed the Google plug-in surviving the Windows patch. What about full apps that users install (not plug-ins) – does Unidesk capture those too?
- Did I hear correctly that Pano includes the servers with their solution? What kind of servers?
- Which level of vSphere do you need to work with Pano? ...and what level of vSphere do you need to work with Unidesk management console?
- Is Unidesk an alternative to VMware View?
- What type of storage do you recommend for Unidesk virtual desktops? Solid state?
- Can the Pano Logic cubes connect wirelessly?
- Regarding the vSphere levels... not version. Essentials, Enterprise, or other minimum? Some of the levels don't give the necessary APIs that you may be using... thus the question.
- How are applications built in Unidesk as compared to Zenworks?
- Would Unidesk replace Zenworks?
- vSphere Standard / vSphere Advanced / vShere Enterprise / vSphere Enterprise Plus... is there a minimum requirement?
- What sort of backend DBMS (if any) does Unidesk require?
- ...and that Pano starter kit is available in the UK?
- Do you have special pricing for academic customers implementing VDI?
- What is the annual maintenance cost for Unidesk?
- Will Unidesk Complete Care be packaged or separated out after initial Unidesk purchase?
- You said that the I/O is offloaded to another server. How does this work with relation to speed? Are you limited to the TCP link between the VM and the Unidesk server?
