The Network Connections folder in Windows is empty

Applicable Products

  • Citrix App Layering 4.x

Symptoms or Error

The "Network Connections" folder in Windows is empty.

Solution

While this issue is not directly related to Unidesk, you may see a desktop where the networks perfectly well, but the icon has a red X through it, claims that the Internet is not accessible, and when you go to Open Network and Sharing Center or look at the Network Connections list, it's empty.

See this article: http://www.askvg.com/fix-network-connections-folder-is-empty-in-windows-not-showing-network-adapters-list/

Overview of the article:

- Run RegEdit in the desktop

- delete HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\Config

- Reload Network Connections (it will be rebuilt).

If this is occurring on all your desktops, create a version of your OS layer and run the above steps,  for future desktops.  For existing machines, this will need to be done manually.
