Don Bulens

President and Chief Executive Officer

Under Don's leadership, Unidesk has become the open management standard for enterprises and service providers that are moving Windows desktops and applications to the cloud.

Before joining Unidesk, Don was President and CEO of EqualLogic, a data storage systems provider that employed highly disruptive product and go-to-market strategies to secure leadership in the fastest growing segment of the storage industry. This success led to the company's $1.4B cash acquisition by Dell in 2008. Don was previously the CEO of Trellix, a provider of widely-adopted web site publishing tools acquired by Interland (now Web.com). Earlier, Don was an executive at Lotus Development, where he led the creation of the channel and developer community that contributed to the extraordinary growth of Lotus Notes.

Don is a director and advisor to several venture-backed companies. He was Ernst & Young’s Northeast Regional “Entrepreneur of the Year” and was awarded “CEO of the Year” by the Massachusetts Network Communications Council, both in 2008. He earned a BA at the University of Massachusetts and an MBA at Suffolk University.

Chris Midgley

Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Chris' vision for Unidesk was inspired by a career immersed in technologies such as virtualization, distributed storage, desktop management, continuous data protection, and Software as a Service (SaaS). His expertise in storage and virtual file systems enabled him to look at desktop virtualization from a unique perspective, and invent C: drive virtualization, or "layering," as the comprehensive solution to the challenges of enterprise desktop management.

Before founding Unidesk, Chris was Vice President, Digital Strategy at data storage services leader Iron Mountain, where he was responsible for defining the digital business' strategic roadmap and acquisition strategy. Chris joined Iron Mountain with its 2005 acquisition of LiveVault, the SaaS pioneer in online backup and recovery that he co-founded in 2001. Under Chris' technical leadership, LiveVault achieved 150% annual sales growth and a base of more than 2,000 SaaS customers. Prior to LiveVault, Chris was Founder and CTO of Network Integrity, a leading provider of fault-tolerant clustering solutions and disk-based continuous data protection technology. Chris has also founded or led the engineering teams for several other successful technology companies, including Sytron Corporation, Irwin Magnetics, and Datalab Corporation.

Chris holds a number of U.S. patents, including several for his innovative work at Unidesk.

Ron Oglesby

Chief Solution Architect

Ron Oglesby educates enterprise IT organizations and solution providers on how to reduce the costs of desktop management and ensure the success of desktop virtualization initiatives. His years of experience as a Citrix Technology Professional (CTP), VMware vExpert, and Microsoft MVP and his strong rapport with IT professionals equip him to shape implementation strategies for Unidesk customers and influence the Unidesk product roadmap.

Before joining Unidesk, Ron was the Practice Executive for Virtualization Services at Dell where he developed methodologies that helped Dell’s strategic customers implement their virtualization and consolidation initiatives. Prior to Dell, Ron was the Director of x86 and Virtualization Services at GlassHouse Technologies, one of the world’s largest independent data center consulting and services companies, where he oversaw North American consulting operations and directed a large team of engineers on numerous enterprise virtualization projects. Ron joined GlassHouse through its acquisition of RapidApp, where, as CTO and Senior Architect, he managed the professional services business and developed unique intellectual property for managing virtualization implementations.

Ron's industry credentials also include:

  • Author of advanced technical design guides for VMware Infrastructure 3, VMware ESX Server, and Terminal Services for Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
  • Frequent speaker at industry events, including BriForum, Citrix Synergy, iForum, VMworld, and VMware User Groups (VMUGs).
  • Recipient of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award, given to inspiring individuals for representing the voice of thousands in the community through independent feedback, and for helping customers maximize the potential of their software.

Mary Jefts

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Mary Jefts is responsible for Unidesk's finance, legal, human resource and administration functions. Mary has over 20 years of financial leadership experience with both public and private companies, primarily in the technology sector.

Prior to Unidesk, Mary was Chief Financial Officer at Acquia and was instrumental in leading the company through its explosive growth. Prior to Acquia, Mary was a Business Unit Executive in the Business Analytics Division at IBM with global responsibility for sales, marketing, services and development. Mary joined IBM with the acquisition of OpenPages where she was Chief Financial Officer. Mary has also held financial leadership positions at Netegrity, Prime Response and PhyMatrix, all of which were publicly-traded companies. Mary began her career as a certified public accountant at PwC.

Mary holds a BS in Accounting from Bentley University.


Samantha Foster

Vice President of Alliances and Channel

Samantha is responsible for Unidesk's strategic partnerships, technology alliances, and channel network. She works with leading independent software vendors (ISVs), independent hardware vendors (IHVs), system integrators, and resellers to build mutually beneficial partnerships that are rooted in customer success.

Samantha has more than 15 years of experience in enterprise software business and market development, most recently at Citrix, where she drove OEM, alliance, strategic go-to-market, and technical collaborations with strategic partners including Cisco and HP.

Samantha is based out of Santa Clara, California, and serves as Unidesk’s lead executive for our growing west coast presence.


Brian McDonough

VP Worldwide Sales

Brian leads global strategy and execution for Unidesk's rapidly growing sales and channel organizations. Since joining Unidesk in 2010, he has helped build a scalable sales model and foster a culture that makes it easy for customers and partners to experience Unidesk. Brian's team maintains a relentless focus on virtual desktop deployment success, which has helped earn incredible advocacy from Unidesk customers, now totaling over 1,300 worldwide.

Prior to Unidesk, Brian was the Worldwide Business Executive for Watchfire sales at IBM, responsible for key sales integration objectives. Brian joined IBM with its acquisition of Watchfire, where he was the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for the leader in application security and compliance solutions. Earlier in his career, Brian held sales and business development leadership positions at eCredit.com, Epicor, and ADP.

Brian holds a BS degree in Marketing from Plymouth State University and resides in Lincoln, RI with his wife and three children.

Tom Rose

Chief Marketing Officer

Tom joined Unidesk as the company's sixth employee and continues to lead the company’s inbound marketing, product positioning, and branding initiatives. He has seen Unidesk grow from a great idea to a great product to a great company with amazing customers.

Prior to Unidesk, Tom was Vice President, Marketing at AppIQ, the leader in multi-vendor Storage Resource Management (SRM) software from its launch in 2003 to the company's acquisition by HP in 2005. At HP, Tom served as Director, Worldwide Product Marketing for the HP Software Information Management business unit. Before AppIQ, Tom was Vice President, Marketing at Courion, where he helped establish the company as a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in identity and access management. Tom was also Vice President, Marketing for HighGround Systems, the SRM pioneer acquired by Sun in 2001, and HyperDesk, an early groupware innovator acquired by FTP Software in 1995. Tom started his career as a software engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation.

Tom holds BS degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Clarkson University and an MBA degree from Rivier University. He lives in Westford, MA with his wife and three children.


Bill Buckley

VP Engineering

As Unidesk’s Vice President of Engineering, Bill Buckley leads the company’s world class engineering department in the development and delivery of Unidesk’s software.

Bill joined Unidesk as one of the early developers tasked with building the first version of Unidesk’s innovative layering technology. Prior to Unidesk he was at EMC where he worked on multiple generations of EMC’s CLARiiON storage arrays and is named on several patents that came out of innovations in that space.

Bill holds a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and a Masters in Computer Software Engineering from Brandeis University.


Steve Burri

VP Customer Success

With over 20 years of Customer Service experience, Unidesk’s VP of Customer Success, Steve Burri, leads a world class team dedicated to ensuring Customers and Partners have an outstanding experience while achieving their virtualization goals.

Steve has created two previous support organizations at Newforma, Inc. and Autodesk-Revit leading both from the ground up and through their rapid growth.

Steve holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
